Abstract
The paper presents the results of research related to the analysis of the reliability of brake boosters in light commercial vehicles. To consider the reliability of mechanical systems, it is necessary to understand the structure, functioning, and potential failure modes that can lead to the loss of operational capability of the system under consideration. Based on operational data, statistical indicators of the random variable of time until the first failure of the brake boosters and the parameters of the approximate model were determined. Statistical data processing was performed using a computer program. For the approximation of the empirical distribution of the random variable, due to its generality and flexibility in adapting to the empirical distribution, the three-parameter Weibull distribution was used. The results of graphical and non-parametric testing confirm that the Weibull distribution can be used as an approximate model. The conclusion of the paper highlights the importance of considering and modeling the reliability of elements in technical systems, the possibilities of using the obtained results, and the directions for further research in this field.
